The group was originally organized to both promote square and round dancing among Arkansas singles...and for the 2007
Single Square Dancers USA Labor Day Dance-A-Rama.

Current and Future Plans
At the March 28, 2009 meeting, the remaining members present decided that it was NOT in the best interest of the
group to sponsor the 2010
Heart Of America Single Square Dance Association Dance...which would
have been held in North Little Rock. As a result, the 2010 HASSDA Dance will be in Grove, Oklahoma.
Conversely, since no one present wanted to step up to take the office of President for the group, in the wake of
the founding presidents resignation earlier in the month ...SSDArkA decided to go INACTIVE. I personally can
NOT do any more with the group than I do, because of numerous health issues.
A follow-up meeting has yet to take place, to decide whether SSDArkA will continue. While it is still an
''organization'', no new members are being accepted at this time.
If and when that meeting is held, if nothing changes at that meeting...then SSDArkA will be forced to DISBAND...
and its legacy will only be that it was the host for the 2007
Single Square Dancers USA 2007 Labor Day Dance-A-Rama.

Officers
I have removed the list off officers for now, as SSDArkA is basically in a ''holding pattern'', with its future
uncertain. However, I have advised one of the other officers to notify me if anything changes in this regard.
